"Fiber seems to be a very forgiving surface, yet clay is not. Clay is different to work with than textiles and that is my greatest challenge. My goal, as I continue with this work, is for the viewer to feel that they have to touch the piece to find out if it is cloth or some other substance. I am looking for the spontaneity in clay and the element of chance that happens during this process."
