>Expanding creativity: Using Mixed Media & Textural Surfaces
The Expanding Creativity workshop will assist artists at any level in creating small textile
compositions. These compositions will incorporate the use of textural surfaces and
mixed media ideas that will help to expand the ways of developing original artwork.
During the workshop, ideas will be expressed in small compositions while exploring 3D
and/or textural surface elements. Participants will experiment with materials and objects that they have discovered, or
will create originals by hand to use in unique fiber compositions. Mixed media will also be
explored in order to generate one of-a-kind ideas, discovering a distinct voice for the artist.

>Creating Designs on Textiles & Specialty Paper from Digital Prints
This hands-on workshop will cover the many aspects of printing quality, digital images on
a variety of textiles and papers using an inkjet printer.
Image and substrate preparation will include varied discussions.
This class is designed to
educate and answer questions about printing on specialty surfaces in addition to the
creation of surfaces from scratch. Experiment with tyvec, lutradur, vinyl, burlap, linen,
canvas, lace paper, airiel paper, watercolor paper, hand made substrates and more. Participants are required to bring a laptop and images.

>Digital Media Art Journals
There is a wide variety of choices in using digital media to create mixed media art
journals. This workshop will explore numerable possibilities for using digital prints,
patterns and textures in journals.
Participants will experiment with their images to
create pages that can be printed on ink jet printers and then sized and used for their
personal or art journals.
This workshop will explore the creation of art journals from textural covers to individually inspired content. Participate
and create your own signature journal from the multitude of innovative ideas
demonstrated and discussed. Fees apply for printing images.

>extreme textural surfaces
This workshop is designed to produce extremely interesting textural surfaces by manipulating fabric, paper and other substrates. During the workshop we will experiment with some, if not all of the following items: found objects, metals, twigs, hemp, canvas, paint, thread, recycled items, metal mesh and wire.
Techniques in layering, embroidery, heat distressing, collage, digital printing and alternative bookmaking will be taught. We will look at uncommon ways to use surfaces, with exercises that stretch beyond where we have been before.. Each participant will bring their special style to the surfaces created.
During the workshop we will explore the use of digital prints on fabric and specialty papers to be used in layers of textural fabric. You will learn how to print on fabric to be used in your various projects. We will print student images on a 4” x 6” printer during the workshop.
The materials presented in this workshop will encourage participants to come up with their interpretation of the ideas. Some sewing techniques will be used and sewing machines are helpful. For some of the textures we will create machine and hand work.
>Beginning Digital Printing on Fabric & Specialty Paper
The Beginning Digital Printing workshop will give participants the knowledge of printing images to fabric and other paper surfaces. Using an art journal format, participants will create small compositions and quality digital prints.
This is an informative class and will give participants all the information required to begin using a digital process in artwork. Fees apply for printing images.

>Mixed Media Journals
Create digital mixed media fiber journals in this innovative workshop with Kathyanne White. Discover digital printing on surfaces such as lutradur, tyvec, pimatex cotton, organdy, painted muslin and watercolor paper. Expand your thinking on how to use photos and images in your mixed media art.
Create writable pages, a funky cover and combine images with textures and found objects.

>Expanding the Digital Print to Uncommon Surfaces
This hands-on workshop will cover the many aspects of printing quality digital images on a variety of textiles and papers using an inkjet printer. Image and substrate preparation in regards to obtaining a quality digital print on a variety of surfaces will be covered in this workshop.
We will coat fabric with digital grounds and print images on these fabrics, as well as do small studies from digital prints. You should have knowledge of a photo based program so you can manipulate images to use for printing.
